Thanksgiving eats
To celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, Josh and I decided to throw caution to the wind and begin our feasting by using our our never-been-used waffle maker. I feel like there are just a few presents that we received during our wedding that weren't given the proper pomp and circumstance that they deserve and this waffle maker is one of them. I don't know what took us so long to make waffles but we've really been missing out for the past year and two months. Very delicious! Add a little ham and it's quite the yummy breakfast.
After finishing breakfast and lounging around, we went to work on getting ourselves to smell like a deep-fried Snickers stand at the fair. That is to say, we prepared our appetizer, smoked mozzarella with honey and figs, for Thanksgiving dinner which began with us frying cheese wrapped in phyllo dough and ended with us showing up to Thanksgiving at my dad's smelling like carnies.
Giada does it best, (just ask Josh). Ours did not look as pretty as hers pictured above, but they were pretty tasty. Recipe here.
