Happy birthday, baby girl! Good heavens, one year old! We started the celebration this weekend with a trip to see Grandma and Grandpa. You were much more polite this trip than over Thanksgiving. Doling out a few more smiles, letting other people hold you. You're really maturing in your old age.
I took the day off so I could escort you to your one year old checkup. You braved a finger poke without a squeak and howled when they tried to weigh you. Makes sense. After all the prodding and measuring the diagnosis is you are tiny. Tiny and fit as a fiddle.
Here's to a year of sweet and sass, of cuddles and crankiness, of big brother and little sister, of pigtails and topknots, of just us girls and daddy and daughter. Here's to you, baby lady.
