3rd Annual Christmas with the B team
Another successful gift exchange with the cousins! We started off with a great feast at Wig and Pen and then had the great gift swap of '09.
Off with his head!
It appears that Suds took offense to something this snowman ornament said or did. We were under the impression that they were buddies since Suds would frequently walk by the tree and nudge this little guy but apparently it wasn't all in good fun. In fact, I'm starting to think that Suds was being a bully and throwing his weight around whenever he paid this guy a visit. I found this crime scene before leaving for work the other day...

What have yahs Wednesday
1. Call me a nerd but I find typos very funny. Courtesy of my fortune cookie:
Can anyone tell me what a vert is? Is it like a have it?
2. I've always been a big fan of board games and the game that has most recently provided many laughable moments is Last Word. We brought this to Thanksgiving and it was a hit with the B team.
Things that you find in an electronics store that start with an "a"? Why, air guitars of course! :)

3. I think I was groomed by Suds yesterday. When I came in from shoveling the driveway, my hair was in a ponytail and was dripping wet from the snow. He came up to me and proceeded to lick my ponytail and the hood of my sweatshirt. Kind of awkward.

Holiday spirit
With Thanksgiving under our belt, we took the weekend to get geared up for the mother of all holidays--Christmas. We spent the weekend hanging up Christmas lights (no picture, they came unhooked from our roof! Shotty craftsmanship or operator error? You make the call), putting out decorations, wrapping presents, picking out a tree and decorating said tree.

UNI fight! Aight!

1. UNI defeats ISU 63 - 60. Hahaha take that Cyclowns.
2. These websites are a lot of fun if you have some time to kill. Deepleap and Totally Looks Like.
3. Outdoor Christmas decorations are so expensive. I can't believe how much just some little snowflakes cost. Also, why have the decorations become so gaudy? Do we really need a world filled with front lawns containing 30ft Santa Clauses and singing dancing baby Jesuses?

Thanksgiving eats
To celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, Josh and I decided to throw caution to the wind and begin our feasting by using our our never-been-used waffle maker. I feel like there are just a few presents that we received during our wedding that weren't given the proper pomp and circumstance that they deserve and this waffle maker is one of them. I don't know what took us so long to make waffles but we've really been missing out for the past year and two months. Very delicious! Add a little ham and it's quite the yummy breakfast.

After finishing breakfast and lounging around, we went to work on getting ourselves to smell like a deep-fried Snickers stand at the fair. That is to say, we prepared our appetizer, smoked mozzarella with honey and figs, for Thanksgiving dinner which began with us frying cheese wrapped in phyllo dough and ended with us showing up to Thanksgiving at my dad's smelling like carnies.
Giada does it best, (just ask Josh). Ours did not look as pretty as hers pictured above, but they were pretty tasty. Recipe here.
